MUSO MATCH APP PTY LTD (ABN: 65 695 398 568) ("Tunegarden", "we", "our", or "us") operates the Tunegarden mobile application (the "App") and associated services. We are committed to handling your personal information responsibly and transparently.
This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to all users of the Tunegarden App and any related services.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Who We Are
Legal entity: MUSO MATCH APP PTY LTD
Principal place of business: Australia
Contact: info@tunegarden.com
Website: https://tunegarden.com
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the App, and limited information from third-party services you connect.
2.1 Account & Profile Information
Email address – used to create and authenticate your account
Username (handle) – your unique @handle shown publicly on your profile
Display name – the public name shown on your profile
Profile photo – an optional image you upload to represent yourself
Cover photo – an optional banner image displayed on your profile
Bio – an optional short description you write about yourself
City – an optional location you set on your account, used internally to surface relevant local events and gigs near you. Your city is not displayed publicly on your profile.
Social links – optional links to your profiles on external platforms (such as Instagram, TikTok, Spotify, Apple Music, TIDAL, YouTube, Deezer, or Last.fm) that you choose to display on your profile. These are URLs or handles you enter manually and are displayed publicly.
Event visibility preference – your setting controlling who can see events you have RSVPed to (e.g. mutuals only, or no one)
Preferred streaming platform – your selected music service (e.g. Apple Music or Spotify), used to personalise playback
2.2 Music Taste & Listening Activity
We collect information about your music preferences both during onboarding and through your ongoing use of the App:
Onboarding selections – the top artists and preferred genres you select when you first set up your account; these seed your initial recommendations
Songs you like or skip within the App
Artists you follow or block
Posts you like or react to
Artists surfaced to you during discovery sessions, and when, so that we do not recommend the same artists repeatedly
Implicit feedback signals such as how frequently you engage with or skip a given artist
Taste match comparisons – we compare your top artists with other users to identify shared music taste. If you meet a threshold of artists in common with another user, your profile may be surfaced to them (and theirs to you) as a taste match. This comparison is based solely on artists you have explicitly followed or selected.
2.3 Content You Create
Song posts – posts you create sharing a track, including any caption and optional image
Direct messages – text and any music shared in private conversations with other users
Community enrichment submissions – genre tags or other metadata you contribute about artists
App feedback – responses to any in-app surveys or feedback forms you complete
Direct messages – text and any music shared in private conversations with other users. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted and may be reviewed by Tunegarden for safety and moderation purposes in accordance with our community guidelines.
2.4 Connected Streaming Services
If you connect Apple Music or Spotify, we store OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens for those services solely to enable playback within the App. We do not access your full listening history from those platforms beyond what is needed to play music you select in the App.
2.5 Location Information
We handle location in two ways:
Profile city – if you choose to set a city on your account, it is stored and used to surface relevant local events. It is not displayed publicly. You can update or remove it at any time in your profile settings.
Device location (if permission granted) – we may use your device’s approximate location in real time to surface relevant local events and gigs near you. We do not store your precise GPS coordinates. If you do not grant location permission, we fall back to your profile city where available.
2.6 Device & Technical Information
We automatically collect certain technical information when you use the App, including:
Device type and operating system version
App version
Push notification tokens (APNs/FCM) if you grant notification permission
Crash reports and diagnostic logs (used solely for debugging)
IP address (used for security and fraud prevention; not linked to your profile for advertising purposes)
2.7 Advertising Information
The App uses Google AdMob to serve advertisements. By default, ads are non-personalised. If you grant permission through the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt on iOS, the advertising identifier (IDFA) may be used to serve personalised ads. You can withdraw this permission at any time in your iOS Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking.
2.8 Notification Preferences
We store your communication preferences, including which email updates and push notifications you have opted in or out of. These include preferences relating to music recommendations, event alerts, activity notifications, and platform updates.
2.9 Referral & Attribution Data
If you join through a referral link, we record basic attribution information (such as the referral code used) to credit the referrer. We do not track your activity across other apps or websites for this purpose.
